Isotype
Engineer antibody

CRAb34
From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is specific for infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV). IBDV is a highly contagious disease of young chickens and turkeys caused by infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV),[1] characterized by immunosuppression and mortality generally at 3 to 6 weeks of age.
Alternative Names
Infectious bursal disease virus
UniProt
Immunogen
The original anitbody was isolated from antibody libraries derived from splenic mRNA of chickens immunized with an Australian strain of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV). The antibody was isolated by panning the chiken scFv library against IBDV strain 002/73.
Application Notes
To characterize this antibody, an ELISA was preformed on IBDV using a phage expressing the scFv version of this antibody. Furthermore, to assess the ability of this antibody to neutralize IBDV, the scFv version of this antibody was mixed with chicken embryo fibroblasts and the GT101 version of IBDV. This antibody showed the ability to neutralize the virus to the considerable extent (Sapats et al, 2003; pmid:12607101).

Note on publication
Phage-displayed recombinant antibody libraries derived from splenic mRNA of chickens immunized with an Australian strain of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) were constructed as single chain variable fragments (scFv) by either overlap extension polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or sequential ligation of the individual heavy (V(H)) and light (V(L)) chain variable gene segments.
