Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody bind p53. It acts as a tumor suppressor in many tumor types; induces growth arrest or apoptosis depending on the physiological circumstances and cell type. It is involved in cell cycle regulation as a trans-activator that acts to negatively regulate cell division by controlling a set of genes required for this process. When damaged cells cannot be repaired, P53 protein will participate in the process of cell apoptosis. Cells with P53 protein defects will lose this control and even continue to divide under adverse conditions.

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with a recombinant human p53 protein (Uniprot no-P04637).
Application Notes
This antibody is highly similar to the commercially available anti-p53 antibody DO-7. The binding specificity and affinity of this antibody for human p53 was detected using ELISA. The original IgG2a version of this antibody binds p53 with a binding affinity constant of 3.02 X 10^9 M^(-1). Western blotting experiments carried out with this antibody show that it can specifically recognize recombinant p53 protein and Jurkat cell line expressing P53 protein. This antibody can also be used in the detection of p53 in a variety of cancerous tissues including esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, gastric adenocarcinoma, intestinal adenocarcinoma, cervical squamous cell carcinoma, hemangioma, and fibrosarcoma. This antibody was also used in the immunohistochemical analysis of p53 in ovarian serous papillary carcinoma tissue (CN105112377).
