Specificity
The antibody is specific for human procollagen 11A1. The epitope recognized is encompassed in the YNYGTMESYQTEAPR amino acid stretch within the variable region of human procollagen 11A1. The antibody does not cross-react with human procollagen 5A1.

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice against the variable region of human procollagen COL11A1.
Application Notes
The original format of the antibody detected human procollagen 11A1 on A204 cells by western blot analysis. The original format of the antibody showed a strong cytoplasmic granular staining on A204 cells and a weaker staining on SAOS-2 cells by immunohistochemistry. The original format of the antibody showed a strong cytoplasmic staining of peritumoral myofibroblasts (García-Ocaña et al., 2012; PMID: 22322826).
