Specificity
This antibody recognizes Profilin-1 and does not corss-react with other isoforms. Profilins are actin-binding proteins involved in the processing of actin cytoskeleton.They are also recognized allergens.

This antibody was raised by immunising mice with a purified plant Profilin-1.
Application Notes
MAbPRF1a antibody is recommended for the identification of Profilin-1 and for the distinguishment of the Profilin-1 from other profilin isovariants in Arabidopsis sp. (McKinney et al., 2001). Western blot analysis confirmed that MAbPRF1a antibody is specific to Profilin-1 and does not cross-react with other isovariants (Kandasamy et al., 2002). This antibody was also used in immunohistochemical analysis of the distribution of profillins in various part of a plant identifying Profilin-1 mostly in vegetative tissues (Kandasamy et al., 2002).
