Specificity
The antibody is specific for the open form of prothrombin. Its epitope is located in kringle-1, comprising an extended binding interface centered at residues R90-Y93.

The binding affinity of original format of the antibody to prothrombin was measured by surface plasmon resonance. The crystal structure of the Fab fragment of the antibody was determined. The antibody could prolong phospholipid-initiated and diluted Russell viper venom clotting time (Kumar et al., 2024; PMID: 38437497).
