Specificity
This antibody is specific for the Streptococcus pneumoniae PspA. The epitope on PspA was defined to residues 231-242 by mutational analysis and supported by molecular docking analysis.

Immunogen
The original antibody was selected from a synthetic human scFv library through biopanning against recombinant PspA.
Application Notes
The dissociation constant (Kd) of the original human scFv version of this antibody was 5.3 ± 2.3 nM as measured in a biolayer interferometry assay. This antibody detected PspA in immunoblots; it exhibited a dose-dependent recognition of recombinant PspA with no cross-reactivity towards other tested pneumococcal antigens and also detected endogenous PspA from pneumococcal lysates (Jang et al., 2017; PMID:27845043).
