Immunogen
The original antibody was isolated from a non-immune semisynthetic llama library constructed from blood samples (6 ml) collected from the left jugular vein of three research naïve mature llamas. The specific clones were selected using Luminex xMAP technology in addition to ELISA.
Application Notes
The binding specificity of this antibody towards ricin was checked using ELISA. The original VHH version of this antibody is reported to bind ricin and ricin B chain with a dissociation constant of 12nM and 10nM respectively. This antibody can be used as a capture molecule in sandwich immunoassays. (PMID:18251258).
