Immunogen
The original antibody was isolated from a non-immune semisynthetic llama library constructed from blood samples (6 ml) collected from the left jugular vein of three research naïve mature llamas.
Application Notes
The binding specificity of this antibody towards staphylococcal enterotoxin B was checked using ELISA. This antibody can also be used as a detection antibody for SEB in a sandwich ELISA. The original VHH antibody can detect SEB concentrations down to 0.05 ng/ml and 0.5 ng/ml in a sample (PMID:17165813).

A semisynthetic llama library was constructed from non-immune llamas and binders specific for live vaccinia virus (a smallpox virus surrogate), hen egg lysozyme, cholera toxin, ricin, and staphylococcal enterotoxin B were selected.
