Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is specific for human thyroid stimulating hormone. Thyroid stimulating hormone is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroxine (T4), and then triiodothyronine (T3) which stimulates the metabolism of almost every tissue in the body. It is a glycoprotein hormone produced by thyrotrope cells in the anterior pituitary gland, which regulates the endocrine function of the thyroid.
Alternative Names
Thyroid stimulating hormone; CHEBI:81567

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing balb/c mice with human TSH.
Application Notes
The binding characterization of this antibody towards thyroid stimulating hormone was done using ELISA (Iba et al., 1995)
