From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | dot blot, ELISA |
Species Reactivity | Staphylococcus aureus |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for the cells of S.aureus. S.aureus is a bacteria that causes a wide range of infections in humans. |
Alternative Name | |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | The antibody was generated by isolating the antibody from a scFV library created from PBMCs from volunteers infected with S. aureus. The antibody was isolated by using S. aureus as antigen |
Application Notes | The specificity of the human IgG1 version of this antibody was determined using both ELISA and a dot blot on S. aureus, S. albus, S. citreus, Salmonella typhi, Bacillus anthracis, Shigella Castellani, Proteusbacillus vulgaris, Monilia albican, α-hemolytic streptococcus and β-hemolytic streptococcus, all clones showed a higher affinity for S.aueus than for other tested bacteria. Furthermore, the binding affinity of the antibody was tested using surface plasmon resonance (Nian et al, 2016; pmid:27129873). |
Antibody First Published | Nian et al. Development and identification of fully human scFv-Fcs against Staphylococcus aureus. BMC Immunol. 2016; 17: 8. PMID:27129873 |
Note on publication | A single-chain variable fragment (scFv) library was constructed using mRNA from the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of S. aureus infected volunteers. The scFv library was screened by phage display for three rounds using S. aureus as an antigen. The single clones were chosen at random and the scFvs were expressed for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) assessment. |
