Specificity | This antibody is specific for human VCAM-1. |
Alternative Name | VCAM-1; V-CAM 1; INCAM-100; CD106 |
UniProt | P19320 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was raised by immunizing a mouse with domain 1 of human VCAM-1. |
Application Notes | The original antibody was used for immunofluorescence on HCAEC. It was able to show the localization of VCAM-1. This antibody was used for a western blot on extracts of HCAEC (Seye et al., 2003; PMID:12714597), and on mesenteric arteries derived from WT and A2BAR-KO mice (Yang et al., 2006; PMID:16823489), and on Mouse microvascular EC (Zerr et al., 2011; PMID:21576651). This antibody was used for an ELISA on HUVECs to show VCAM-1 (Haguet et al., 2020; PMID:32719607). The effect of this antibody on the growth of human blood outgrowth endothelial cells in mice was tested (Milbauer et al., 2009; PMID:19304277). |
Antibody First Published | Seye et al. The P2Y2 nucleotide receptor mediates UTP-induced vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 expression in coronary artery endothelial cells. J Biol Chem. 2003 Jul 4;278(27):24960-5. PMID:12714597 |
Note on publication | In the original paper they addressed the hypothesis that activation of P2Y2 receptors by extracellular nucleotides modulates the expression of adhesion molecules on vascular endothelial cells that are important for monocyte recruitment. |
